Amen

UGA Football Week 1 - what we learned:

I'm feeling good about Georgia! ... and I don't think I'm just drinking the koolaid ...

  • Mark Richt, Mike  Bobo, and Jeremy Pruitt put together a very good game plan - although I wasn't convinced until mid way through the 3rd Quarter.
  • Richt said that constant personnel adjustments kept everyone fresh, a game plan his staff hasn’t always been brave enough to implement - but did this time.
  • Todd Gurley is a legitimate Heisman candidate - I already knew that ;-)'
  • Georgia’s run game was dominant; Todd Gurley, Keith Marshall, Nick Chubb, and Sony Michel. (I hope someone doesn't start calling them the four horsemen)
  • Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall raced each other in practice on Thursday. Both ran a sub 4.3  40. Gurley won.
  • Hutson Mason can have a great year without doing anything great - just distribute the ball and avoid mistakes.
  • Special teams were special - “This year  we’re putting our best players on special teams." - Mark Richt
  • Defensive depth - we have it.
  • Georgia’s Defense loves playing to Coach Jeremy Pruitt - they understand and believe in the defense - they are making plays and will get better every game. In Damian Swann’s words, “In Pruitt they trust.” Coach Pruitt has confidence in the defense.
  • Georgia's off season and preseason conditioning paid off and was very evident in the 2nd half - played hard to the end.
  • Georgia played seven true freshmen.
No new injuries this game - stay healthy Dawgs.

We will be ready when we go to South Carolina in two weeks. I always love whipping Stevie. ;-)'

Go Dawgs!

Update:
The Bulldogs offensive line and special teams blockers deserver huge credit for creating  holes for Todd Gurley. If he can stay healthy and continue to rush like he did in Game 1, Georgia will threaten every defense and be a favorite to win the SEC East Division.
